The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) officials served notices and executed some warrants on properties which had an outstanding arrears and dues. GHMC continuing its drive to collect property tax dues from top defaulters. On Tuesday GHMC threatned Jawaharlal Nehru Zoological Park at Bahadurpura to attach its properties if it did not clear tax arrears.
Owner of a residential building in Khairtabad circle paid Rs 5.32 lakh after the GHMC officials slapped a notice to attach the apartment complex. On Monday the GHMC had attached property of Hotel Katriya De Royal at Somajiguda . The building was leased out to Hotel Katriya De Royal. GHMC had served notices on both the owner and occupier of the building for payment of Rs 1.16 crore property tax, including arrears and current year dues. Similarly, the authorities issued notices to Shama Theatre in the Old City and collected Rs 1.10 lakh. The theatre management gave a post dated cheque for the remaining amount.
The owner of the Hotel Katriya De Royal building has to clear dues of Rs 1.16 crore. “If they do not pay property tax dues within two days, more movable properties of the hotel would be attached,” GHMC deputy municipal commissioner Ravi Kiran said. Meanwhile, GHMC officials served notices and executed some warrants on properties which had an outstanding of over Rs one lakh.
